I don't expect them to. That is asking a lot and most likely futile. I would prefer the refugees get together, find some allies, work with countries that would help them and go back as a united force. That is probably a bigger pie in the sky hope than staying and fighting though.
ISIS itself is an example of people rising up against established centers of power.

Syria and Iraq prove that malevolent dictators are not a bad thing. Under Sadamm there was no ISIS, and when Assad was unopposed there was no ISIS. To be honest I wish we would stop taking this "the world would be a better place if X isnt ruling X, and we introduce the people of X to freedom". Iraq 2003, Syria, and Libya are the dumbest conflicts we have either got involved with or created conflict with. Before you say "Well Alqueda..." , Alqueda started hating us because the Saudis asked us to take the lead in Kuwaitt instead of bin Laden's forces. Taking out dictators isnt always a good thing.

Ralph Peters, "The Shah Always Falls". Peter's thesis is that the US ends up supporting too many dictators, who inevitably collapse and the people he had oppressed end up hating us.

Then again, Putin does not like popular uprisings either.

Vladimir Putin said:
“And so the export of revolutions, this time of so-called ‘democratic’ ones, continues ... But how did it actually turn out? Rather than bringing about reforms, an aggressive foreign interference has resulted in a flagrant destruction of national institutions and the lifestyle itself. Instead of the triumph of democracy and progress, we got violence, poverty and a social disaster … I cannot help asking those who have caused this situation: do you realise now what you have done?”
Not saying one way or another that you are right or wrong, or that Peters is right and Putin is wrong, just that this question brings about strange bedfellows.

The Balkans under Tito leads me to believe in the need of dictators in extremely diverse third world nations. It's just my opinion, but either way we should stop being the world's police officer.

For what it's worth, I agree with you and find Ralph Peter's analysis unconvincing. Some societies are savages that need a dictator, sometimes a brutal dictator to make the trains run on time."

Rudyard Kipling said:
Take up the White Man’s burden—
Send forth the best ye breed—
Go send your sons to exile
To serve your captives' need
To wait in heavy harness
On fluttered folk and wild—
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
Half devil and half child
Plus ça change, plus c'est la meme chose.

Re: ISIS' underlying theology...

not sure if it was rumor or not, but i remember hearing that a pretty substantial porn collection was found in the bin laden hidey hole when he was offed
It was not rumor. It was actually published. Of course they seized all of his HDDs, thumbs and DVDs. I always wondered where he got it from, since he'd basically cut himself off from the world. Wonder who placed the order, picked it up and delivered it back. Trivia I think about from time to time... :D
