He is a tough disciplinarian, moreso on himself than anyone, but he makes a good point.
It doesn't matter how good you are. If "Good" doesn't show up, you can get your butt kicked.

If ESPN had asked the same question as the local guy, he would have smiled and said, "Well, I understand why you're asking me that. I do. But I think people need to understand that it doesn't matter who you're playing"....blah blah

They are NOT beneath him. They are good guys, trying to do their jobs, trying to keep fans informed., and he should respect that.
