I heard the same thing somewhere and I believe it turned out to be wrong. It drops to $12.9MM on 1/1/16. Doubt that it drops to $5MM later the same year.

That all becomes irrelevant later this week when Chip Kelly signs on as the 'Who's new OC and head-coach-in-waiting for when Le Smiles retires next year - Chip's really anxious to see what he can do developing five-star players (instead of the 2* and 3*s he had at Zer-O-gon) in his offense. I'm just hoping 'Bama can get past Florida Saturday so Saban will have a whole month to work on wresting the recruiting championship away from LSU heading into Le Smiles' last year...
