With richt out at georgia, is cks gone?
Really where at???He's already got about 6 jobs, he can't do them all.

Well, Georgia did hire a coordinator with no previous head coaching experience when they hired Richt. He did ok...Anything's possible, but I think Georgia should ask Florida how hiring a coordinator with no previous head coaching experience worked out?
Yep. Maybe Smart should take the Memphis job. It's a mid-major school and Fuente hopefully didn't leave the program without some players.I think Coach Mac drew up the blueprint that CKS should follow. Go get your initial HC chops at a school like Colorado State, hone the skills that you`ve learned from a CNS, then hit the big time. It`s just unfortunate that Georgia has come open now (assuming that it`s his dream job, of course).
Houston for one. It has been widely reported that they have agreed to a contract. Baring something stupid on their part he isn't leaving.Really where at???
Georgia would be a step up from Houston.Houston for one. It has been widely reported that they have agreed to a contract. Baring something stupid on their part he isn't leaving.
Concur, if they are going by the checklist I think they are, it would have to lead back to Mullen. Highest character, proven head coach, offense, develops and will attract QB's. I assume many do not know how hard it is to win at MSU and SC, any coach that can win 8 games constantly is a very good coach, top 90%. I would throw him a lot of money, and I betcha Florida does not want Mullen at Georgia, that is instant competition. If coach Saban left, I would Mullen over most coaches. The UGA situation is about as interesting as the LSU situation. At least with LSU, they were smart enough not to pull the trigger without having the person they wanted in tow. UGA needs to have a proven HC that will be able to make improvements to the offense, and the only two possible candidates that have that fit the bill is Mullen and Smart. As much as I love Smart, Mullen would be a better fit for UGA.
For this year's open jobs and the program's need ... Smart would be a better fit for Rutgers imo, or just wait it out for another year. CKS needs to go to a program where they are able to keep their offensive identify intact without they staff they currently have and he make the improvements on the defensive and structural side. Again, nothing against him, but not seeing how he makes the UGA program better. Thinking it will be the similar effect with Muschamp at Florida.
I agree, that does not mean he is automatically taking the job. IMO Richt hanging around in some other capacity is a recipe for problems and could drive some coaches away.Georgia would be a step up from Houston.
My belief is he would stay at UGA as the DCWonder what Pruitt will do if Kirby takes UGA job?
50/50.. Cochran either stay or go. Kirby and Scott are close friends. If he goes..... Oh well. Not a deal breaker. On a related note...I've heard some say that if CKS leaves we'll also lose Coach Cochran. Why is that?
I have no inside on this but it seems that Scotty and Coach Saban are pretty close as well.50/50.. Cochran either stay or go. Kirby and Scott are close friends. If he goes..... Oh well. Not a deal breaker.
