Anyone else heard this? If so, will they decline their share of SEC money? Why punish your seniors and miss the extra practice time?
Its true. they decliend it. they're 5-7... They dont need to be playing in a bowl. they're awful!I doubt this is real.

That is never true in the SEC with the shared revenue. It is always worth it.Going to a lower lower tier bowl would probably cost them more money than they would bring in.
Spot on.A lot of special circumstances here. Sick head coach walking away. Racial problems on campus. They are in a better place to judge what is best for their program than we are.
Why should they have to when you have teams like Kentucky and Vanderbilt who don't even get a bid, but get a paycheck? If they don't want to go, then they shouldn't go. It just means 1 less loss for the SEC come bowl season. It is pretty simple. If they don't want to play then forfeit the bowl share of the SEC money.
Teams with 5-7 records will become eligible for at least two bowl bids and as many as five, based on their Academic Progress Rates...
In the past 20 years, only three teams with losing records have received bowl berths: Georgia Tech (2012), UCLA (2011) and North Texas (2001).
