Derrick Henry has 1797 yards. Needs 203 yards to reach 2k

Calvin Ridley has 791 yards. Needs 209 yards to reach 1k

If we make a deep run in the playoff.. We could see several team records being broken, not just by Henry but other players as well. We know Henry broke several records lately.. but I just wanted to give you guys head up...

Was thinking about Henry's numbers the other day ... that would be just amazing for an SEC back to reach 2k in a season. Who was the last back to do so in the SEC?

And if Ridley stay healthy and keeps his mind focused on and off the field, we're looking at another elite-NFL caliber WR to come out Bama before its all said an done. Guess folks can't make the argument any more that we don't throw the ball lol

As far as I'm aware, no SEC back has ever hit 2k.

Herschel had 1891 in a season:

Those are pretty impressive numbers by Herschel ... they craziest thing is the SEC actually had TWO backs that were on pace to get 2000 this season ... and its still not out of the picture that Fournette may get it as well ... he just need 259 in the bowl game. And depending who they play, a 200+ game wouldn't be too far fetched. As far as it goes though, I really hope Henry gets 2K, the Heisman, AND a championship :)

Only 14 players in CFB history have rushed for 2,000 yards - it's an amazing feat!

Barry Sanders Oklahoma State (1988): 2,628 (7.64 yards per carry)
Kevin Smith UCF (2007): 2,567 (5.70)
Marcus Allen USC (1981): 2,342 (5.81)
Troy Davis Iowa State (1996): 2,185 (5.44)
Ladainian Tomlinson TCU (2000): 2,158 (5.85)
Mike Rozier Nebraska (1983): 2,148 (7.81)
Matt Forte Tulane (2007): 2,127 (5.89)
Ricky Williams Texas (1998): 2,124 (5.88)
Larry Johnson Penn State (2002): 2,087 (7.70)
Byron Hanspard Texas Tech (1996): 2,084 (6.15)
Rashaan Salaam Colorado (1994): 2,055 (6.90)
J.J. Arrington California (2004): 289 2,018 (6.98)
Ray Rice Rutgers (2007): 2,012 (5.29)

And Fournette lost a season opener where they would have likely given him at least 15 touches against an FCS opponent.

It's actually 13. Troy Davis did it twice.

No doubt it would be an amazing feat to hit. He will obliterate Herchel's record.

Based on his last few games, it's not a stretch at all to think he could break 2000 against UF.

By doing so, he would break the SEC record for 200 yard games in a season, yardage in a season, and be the first ever 2000 yard back...

How many of those players did it in 11 games?

We just need to win and by extension that mean Henry has done his job. This offense goes as he goes, so if he doesn't have an effective day then our offense likely will not either.

The main thing is that Henry is doing this in the SEC. Better yet, the SECw. Moreover, he is doing it in today's SECw.

There's getting 2000 yards in a season, and then there is what Henry has done this year. JMO, but I believe that what Henry has done this year surpasses the best single season for a RB in the history of the sport. Not saying that this makes him the best RB in the history of the sport, but this season his accomplishments surpass anything that I have witnessed or read about. If he doesn't win the Heisman they should just retire the trophy.

Six.

Post-seasons stats started in the 2002 season: Matt Forte and Kevin Smith played in 14 games, Ray Rice 13 games, JJ Arington, Mike Rozier, and Ricky Williams in 12 games. The rest of them hit 200 yards in 11 games.
That makes Barry Sanders number even more impressive than it already is.
