Very good article. Thanks for sharing. A lot of people never liked Danny, but I always thought he was an excellent coach. I met him at a Quarterback Club meeting 24 years ago and thought he was a genuinely nice man who liked people and enjoyed coaching young men. Somebody asked him what he would do if "mama called" and he had the opportunity to go back to Alabama. He thought about it a few seconds and said something like, "That would sure be hard to turn down". Glad to see Danny found out that there's more to life than coaching. It looks like he has been very happy since retiring from football.

Danny and I grew up in Gadsden. I've known him since we were kids. Our families were friends.
Danny was a good hard nosed football player, and a great coach. :biggrin2:
He's always been in my Nice Guy Book...
