Re: Can Trump Really Win the Presidency?

Which would matter if I was arguing for him but I'm not. I cannot sit here and maintain any consistency or credibility by voting for either one of these idiots.

My only point is that the idea HRC can NOW be exposed as what she always was....opinions on her are set and immovable, both pro and con. She was already squirrelly by virtue of her amazing stock market prowess back in 1979.

The fact the system coughed up these two schmucks is proof the system is broken and that has nothing at all to do with Obama destroying the country (as is alleged).
I know you aren't a Trump supporter, it was just a general comment about him and how long he has been on the public stage and I used your comment as a springboard.

I don't blame the system so much for giving us Hilary. If she wasn't married to Bill, we would not know who she is. But they have a stranglehold on the party. At least Chelsea seems media shy or she'd be being groomed for 2024.

Re: Can Trump Really Win the Presidency?

I look at Trump and see he's been involved with a few projects that have filed bankruptcy, out of thousands of successful projects over his career.
I think what is dangerous is that statements like this mean that Trump's messaging is working. He has not had thousands of successful projects. He has had more than just a few bankruptcies. Saying that four bankruptcies is a few diminishes just what those bankruptcies have done for the people involved.

Trump University from: Fortune Article

Fortune Article said:
Chock up yet another first for the Teflon-plated real-estate mogul and reality-TV star Donald J. Trump. His now-discontinued Trump University operation has been accused not just of fraud, false advertising, and unfair business practices, but also of having used such tactics against vulnerable seniors in ways that violated special “financial elder abuse” statutes in California and Florida. The civil trial is currently on track to begin in August in federal court in San Diego, just a few weeks after the Republican convention concludes in Cleveland on July 21.
Trump Condos in Tampa from: Article

Tampa Bay Times Article said:
Magner put down a deposit, joining dozens of other buyers eager to own part of what Trump called a property "so spectacular that it will redefine both Tampa's skyline and the market's expectations of luxury.''

A decade later, the city's skyline has indeed changed but not because of Trump Tower Tampa. Magner often walks or cycles by the acre and a half site, still weedy and empty.

"I lost $130,000,'' he says. "I didn't know people could take your money and not build the building.''
He doesn't keep his word to pay bills from: Article

USA Today Article said:
uring the Atlantic City casino boom in the 1980s, Philadelphia cabinet-builder Edward Friel Jr. landed a $400,000 contract to build the bases for slot machines, registration desks, bars and other cabinets at Harrah's at Trump Plaza.

The family cabinetry business, founded in the 1940s by Edward’s father, finished its work in 1984 and submitted its final bill to the general contractor for the Trump Organization, the resort’s builder.

Edward’s son, Paul, who was the firm’s accountant, still remembers the amount of that bill more than 30 years later: $83,600. The reason: the money never came. “That began the demise of the Edward J. Friel Company… which has been around since my grandfather,” he said.

Donald Trump often portrays himself as a savior of the working class who will "protect your job." But a USA TODAY NETWORK analysis found he has been involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the past three decades — and a large number of those involve ordinary Americans, like the Friels, who say Trump or his companies have refused to pay them.
You don't get to call someone an excellent businessman when they do these things. If any of the people who ran small businesses on here did the above, their business would be done. Trump is not a businessman. He is a salesman. His trade is snake oil. The next time you or anyone wants to call Trump a "good businessman" ask yourselves whether you could have pulled off the same stunts he is doing and still consider yourself a decent human being.

I know one thing for sure is that Trump is going clobber HRC in the debates. She won't know what hit her.

I don't think very highly of HRC, but unless you think debates are won by childish facial expressions, I'm not sure how anyone can think the debates will be anything but a horrifically saddening moment for the US.

So far she's dodging making any comments about Uranium One and all the money she's taken from countries that enslave women and push gays off buildings.

The strategy is ignore the crimes and attack the character of her opponent. From what I am seeing there aren't many who are undecided on who to vote for - if they are going to participate at all.

It all depends on who hosts the debates and if she is spoon-fed soft questions. Remember that asking the right question in the correct manner to the right person will always bring about the desired answer.
I think Trump is going to attack her hard no matter what they ask her.

Of course he is - it's literally the only thing he can do. But things that look real good at a $4000 a plate Republican breakfast look a whole lot different on TV, too.

Never called him an excellent businessman, those are your words....successful yes, excellent...no.....but, I know several successful businessmen/businesswomen who would have never got to where they were without cutting throats along the way.....it's the name of the game in BIG business, and it isn't pretty......do you think the leaders of other countries are playing fair and moral?

It's beside the point. Like I said, Trump wasn't my choice to begin with, and I know his character isn't anything I'd waste time to argue about.....as far as any Billionaire...every damn one has screwed folks to get to where they are....

I Like Gary Johnson....I think he has some great policy....But I also believe that 3/4 of the voters don't know who he is, because they only know what they watch on TV, and read in the major news outlets, and it's been the Bernie, Hillary, and Trump show.......that's why I believe that only the rare few who really take notice of the elections, know he is running....I asked around the office today about who they were voting for..... It was all "uh Bernie or Hillary...or Trump"....When I asked "what about Johnson....." Most said "who?"

In a better (not perfect) world, the Donald would not be running for office.... He'd be funding Johnson's campaign from the beginning...(or any one of about 3 GOP candidates who have dropped out):

It's all going to come down to demographics and turnout. If we get 2014 type turnout. Trump will be president.

In the primaries, Hillary was speaking to half-empty rooms of bankers and Donald was speaking to football stadium crowds of 30k- 40k. Nothing has changed. Donald is still as popular now as then and will win this by a landslide. Then the Brexit crowd will be answered. We, like they, are fed up with the elitist attitude among those we elect to serve us. We will also have done our part in removing them from positions of power.
