Pay special attention at the 19 minute mark.......

i'd rather not listen to him any more than is already being thrust upon me by every potential media outlet, how about you tell us what happens around 19? Does he drop out of the race? If so I'll watch

Curiosity got the better of me - it's not Trump speaking, but it is unnerving.

In a related story, Gary Johnson was nominated for the Libertarian Party yesterday.

I wish he had chosen Bernie as a running mate, not because I believe in Sanders but because I'd love to see the slogans:

Feel The Johnson
Feel The Bern

(Followed no doubt by, 'feel the Z pack')

Re: Can Trump Really Win the Presidency?

Interesting electoral college analysis on how Trump could win the election.

Again: It’s a long way to November, and Trump could always self-destruct. But he probably won’t, and 2016 is shaping up as a contest that a careful Clinton campaign can easily lose, state by state, even as she piles up the popular vote in California and other sure-win places. Demographics are not destiny. In fact, they can be a disaster waiting to happen.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
Re: Can Trump Really Win the Presidency?

Is this the thread I'm supposed to post in when Drumpf says something stupid? Cause he said something stupid.

“We’re going to solve your water problem. You have a water problem that is so insane. It is so ridiculous where they’re taking the water and shoving it out to sea,” Trump said to cheers at a rally that drew thousands.

Trump said he spent 30 minutes before the rally meeting with more than 50 farmers who complained to him about their struggles.

“They don’t understand — nobody understands it,” he said, adding that, “There is no drought.”…

Trump says that, “If I win, believe me, we’re going to start opening up the water so that you can have your farmers survive.”

Someone needs to let him know that there isn't a secret government spigot hidden away in the Sierra Nevada that will fix their water needs.

This was discussed a bit over the last page or two. His statement is not entirely off base given that authorities continue to drain reservoirs into the ocean even when water demands exceed supply.

Hmmm. So the David Bernstein liberal whack job of May 27 contradicts the David Bernstein liberal whack job proclamation on March 4.

I think Bernstein needs to run for office with this kind of spin.

MARCH 4
But given his commitment to a wall along the Mexican border and a ban on Muslim immigration, and given his flirtations with racism and fascism, he’s likely done too much damage to salvage much crossover appeal

MAY 27
But it would be difficult for Trump to keep doing as poorly with Latino voters as he’s done over the past year. And if he’s able to keep his incendiary language to a minimum, there is no guarantee that Clinton’s energy will hold for the many months until the election

(channeling my inner Selma)....it's happened four times in our history....a president elected on electoral vote but not popular vote. Last time was G.W. Bush (vs. Gore) in 2000.
Yes, and W started immediately saying he had a "mandate."

The method that we use to determine POTUS is ridiculous from start to finish.

Ah, I missed it. He's still wrong though. It's bumper sticker logic. Regarding the outflow, the vast majority of it is necessary to preserve water quality for drinking and irrigation. Preserving the Delta only accounts for about 18% of the outflow. If they take too much water, then salt water intrudes, threatening irrigation and drinking water for 25 million people.

Even then, they've directed 175,000,000,000 (billion) gallons of water to the delta per year. Compare that to the 1,100,000,000,000 (trillion) used per year on almonds alone. Add in the 63,000,000,000,000 (trillion) in water loss due to drought per year for the region in that same span, and you can see that the effect of redirecting this water will do very little for just that one crop. A drop in the bucket when you add in the rest.

Primaries? Absurd

Electoral College? Absolutely necessary, the great equalizer.

And btw - if you think Florida 2000 was insane.....imagine if EVERY SINGLE PRECINCT in America had to conduct a hand recount (which is exactly what would have happened in 2000 if we didn't have an Electoral College). Imagine the number of court cases and challenges THAT would have engendered.

Probably not
Every single precinct in an election 500,000 votes apart with multiplied thousands of over and under votes most certainly would have - and both parties shenanigans would have made that even more nuclear than what we had.
