We have a lot of seniors who contributed this year, but didn't get much publicity or credit. Some impacted our team greater than we realize.
My vote goes to KEnyan Drake and Bradley Sylve. I think KEnyan's leadership and attitude (even when he was hurt) helped define this team. Sylve has been an unselfish player and a consistent player on special teams. He could have transferred to other schools, but he bought in was a team player. I hope this NC is gratifying for him.

Here are the seniors:

If the question is unsung hero, without a doubt Michael Nysewander. Agree, though, I was so glad to see Kenyan get the KO return. So glad to see him succeed after all of his adversities. Great attitude. Great leader. He is an example of one of the things that what makes Bama great.

Coker, because he was always the other QB, every single game.

I enjoyed watching Dillon's journey. I hope he gets a look at the next level.

The return placed drake in bama lore forever...people will talk about that 50 years from now.

What about our medical staff? We seemed to have a pretty healthy year besides Foster.. I think that's a big factor that goes unnoticed

Jacob Coker. He got poor protection for most of the year which slowed his development and was generally thought of as a liability. But he turned into a serious weapon and made some unbelievable plays down the stretch. Against Michigan State and in the second half vs. Clemson, our run game wasn't much of a factor. It was Coker who won those games for us (with help of course). I feel crazy for saying this, but the Coker I saw during the playoffs, I'd take him over any quarterback we've yet had under CNS. The throws he was makin...simply BIGTIME.

Michael Nysewander on offense
We lacked a natural H-Back this year. The TE bodies on campus were more in the vein of a pure in-line TE or a flex option in slot or FL/SE. In fact, most of the non-Howard TE snaps went to a former OL turned TE, Brandon Greene. Nysewander filled a nice role as a motion H-B for us. He probably had the game of his life in the LSU game despite not having a single touch. You could probably pick out a half-dozen critical blocks he made on big runs in just casual viewing.

Dillon Lee on defense
Sam LB tends to be an overlooked position in our scheme since we so rarely get in pure 34 looks in this offensive era, but Lee's versatility actually led to more snaps for the man at that position than most years. He'd play at ILB a good bit in nickel. Much like Nysewander, he had the game of his life against LSU. His 3rd quarter INT to start the half led to the avalanche that buried LSU. LSU's gameplan was predicated on trying to isolate the OLBs and DBs against Fournette but he stood his ground against their TEs and FBs trying to set the edge and got Fournette going more laterally than they wanted...the rest is 31 yards of history.

I'd say Coker is unsung for his running. He got praise for his passing and leadership skills but he had many tough runs for first downs when he needed to.

Maybe my definition of unsung is different than others. Coker, has gotten some love....perhaps not enough, perhaps not often enough, but he's gotten some singing his praises.

I see "unsung" as one of those that makes plays, game in, game out, with little to no fanfare......

For me that's Devall.....the starter who gets the least amount of attention.....who always seemed to find one or two plays a game that made a huge difference. He was also huge in stopping the run......he'd come out for the pass rush specialists, who often got the glory...

So, for me it's Devall.....

I'd go with HWY 46. With that said, what in the world happened to Denzel Devall? I completely forgot he was on the team. I see he still played. I just don't remember seeing him, at all! Is it me?
