ROLL TIDE!
We have been celebrating #16 in style and, given we are about to begin our 17th year online, I was thinking it might be time to refresh our logo. We have had several logos over the years but all have been similar to the one you see at the top left of this page.
Hereby we announce the TideFans.com Logo Contest for the most creative, clean and fresh logo for our web-site.
REWARD?
The winner gets a $300 giftcard to our TideFansStore.com Fanatics Bama Gear store. The winner’s name (or TideFans username) will appear in the footer of every web-page – as long as we use it, of course. (see other rules below)
What is required?
In order to participate, design should meet the following specs:
The logo has to be related to TideFans.com, athletics at The University of Alabama, and select themes you think are most appropriate. Logos may NOT, under any circumstances, use licensed images or trademarked designs. In other words, you and we must be able to use the logo without any legal reservations.
How do I participate?
Come up with a design. Upload your design into this thread. Include a brief description of your design and the theme you’ve selected and why. We’d like you to be creative and classy. We want something that really does a great job of representing and celebrating the University of Alabama, TideFans.com, and the thousands of TideFans members and our online presence over the last 17 years. We would also like something like "Est. 1999" or something similar incorporated into the logo, if possible. You can make modifications to the current logo or come up with something entirely new. An elephant has been a central theme since the beginning so that's probably important, but not 100% absolutely necessary if you design something truly outstanding!
Who may participate?
Every member! (you have to be a member to post your submission(s) here). Up to three (3) submissions per member.
What is the deadline?
We’ll consider all designs posted into this thread until the 31st of March 2016. In the beginning of April we’ll present the top 10 most interesting works and announce the winner for the 17th anniversary of TideFans by the end of April.
Who Owns it?
The winning logo(s) become the property of BamaNation Properties, LLC and TideFans.com. We reserve the right to modify any winning logo(s) to conform to our site needs. All other logos not selected as the winner remain the property of the designer. By submitting a logo, you're agreeing to all the terms in this contest.
Who is the judge?
Good question. We'll let our members vote on the top 10 submitted designs. We (well, ultimately me, BamaNation) will be the final decision maker on this contest. I may consult with other admins and moderators and also may consult legal advice on the ultimate selection. In the end, we may not choose any of the submitted logos or we may ask a designer to modify a submitted logo to meet our needs. If we do indeed change logos to one submitted (or a modified submission) that designer wins the $300 gift card.
What if nobody wins the overall contest?
Another good question. If we decide to not use one of the submitted or modified logos as our new logo, there will still be a $100 members choice award for the designer whose logo wins the members' vote.

Max. height: 225px.
Max. width: 80px
Max. size: 20 Kb.
Format: .gif or .png or .jpg - a Favicon
Size: 16x16px or 32x32px.
Format: .ico. - Adobe Photoshop
The winner must also have the design available in a Photoshop or Illustrator compatible format with each element being selectable. - Transparency
