That PR release is bogus:
"We don't think that is a recent picture, but we're getting rid of him anyway because he broke other rules we're not going to tell you about..."
They're cutting his scholarship due to bad PR and that's that.

Whatever success he had in High School never seemed to show up in College..... Maybe he needs to head to CUSA or Sun Belt like the kid from Florida did.

The video is out there and could be verified easily enough...I can't imagine that they would make that claim in an official press release.

With absolutely no knowledge to support me, I'm trying to figure out why this was the final straw.
Using Occam's razor -- the simplest explanation that reconciles all the facts is usually the right one -- I'm guessing there were multiple incidents that the coaches dealt with, but never made it into the press. They give him an ultimatum. Come clean, and it better be everything, and we'll move forward. But if you lie to us, or if you leave anything out, you're done.
Then the video comes out, and he's busted in a lie....either he said nothing of the sort ever happened, or he was asked to come clean on everything, past or present, and he didn't.
Just a guess as to how a two-year old incident for a player with a known troubled past resulted in permanent dismissal today.
