I read his comments earlier. Seems like the same mistakes were made there that Meyer made at Florida.

From 2003 when Fran took over to now, aTm has won 62% of their games. CKS has won 75% and I doubt he will improve on that this year. Question is, will he last the entire season this year?
Here was their conference record in the Big 12 from 2003-2010. Not very impressive at all.

I gotta say, I kind of dig the kid's style.

Didn't mouth off about what he thought he deserved as far as playing time, didn't throw current names out there give a "woe is me" spin. I felt he was honest about why he left without sounding like a whiner.
If the culture isn't copacetic and is toxic, he's right, you won't win football games.

Herman is a talented coach but I'm not even sure about him after that radio interview.

You do not see a lot of bad mouthing towards respected coaches, this is a bad sign. Could be a lot of movement in the West the next 3 years baring Bama and Arkansas.

As it turns out, that win against us in 2012 may have been the most pyrrhic in football history.

UTw loses and six years later is still whining about Colt getting hurt. aTm wins, and laments the cost. What a microcosm.

Bevo U being in the dumper is largely the cause of aTm's ascension.

Their days may be numbered. Hope they find creative ways to fill an over-sized stadium.

Yeah, they'll be calling Baylor to rent the tarps to cover the upper levels of the endzone's. I never understood why they think they need 102K seats when in the 10-15 years leading up to joining the SEC they couldn't sell out conference games in a 87K seat stadium.

Ex. in 2006 they had at least 12K below capacity for every non-conf game. Against a ranked Mizzou they were 12K below capacity in a conference game. In 2009 they were 6K or more below capacity for every non cons game and 2 conference games failed to sell out. In 2010 they failed to sell out any of their non conference games or, the OU game. A top 10 ranked OU.

In 2011 they did sell out their games coming off a Cotton Bowl appearance an a pre-season top 8 ranking. They sold out 2012 being new to the SEC and 2013 with the "excitement" of Johnny Football. in 2014 they did not sell out a single game. To be fair, they increased capacity to 106K. However, when it reduced to the finalized 102K this season, they had 3 games that did not sell out including a conference game VS SC. If the short horns start to take back the state and media attention, they will have 20K empty seats or more when playing SMU, Sam Houston St, Rice etc. They will have 5-10 thousand empty seats for conference games vs teams other than LSU or BAMA.

Barring a miraculous 2016 season, I think there's about a zero percent chance Sumlin is still coaching in College Station year from today.

They beat us in 2012. That's literally it. They hang their hat on that one win. We single handedly helped fund their ludicrous stadium expansion, and when Sumlin goes 7-5 this year and gets fired you'll hear people there saying stuff like "we just couldn't get back to where we were in 2012".

The 'DYSFUNCTION' began when TAMU allowed Johnny Football to commit infractions and did nothing about it.
The Manziel actions became sanctioned when TAMU hired lawyers to keep him qualified to play football.
Manziel's actions were tolerated, then soon copied by other student athletes at TAMU.
I BLAME SUMLIN. (It's his mess)

I guess that was a VIRUS that spread even to the Ohio area. Is it called the Manziel Virus?

I guess that Kyle Allen didn't know about the virus until he got there.

I don't think any of this is really any kind of surprise. When you let the inmates run the prison what do you expect? The only winners in all of this is Sumlin; he hoodwinked TAMU into a $15-$20 million buyout, and Manziel who got millions from Cleveland to ride the pine, great work by both if you can get it.

I saw this quote (from the linked article above) about Major Applewhite and thought it was an interesting update on what he's doing. It sounds good for him & I'm glad to see that. I'm guessing with some more years experience behind him, he has improved as an OC since he was here.

This is from Kyle Allen about now playing for Houston for Coach Tom Herman:
“A major reason I'm here is because of him and [offensive coordinator Major Applewhite],” he said.

I do find it interesting that Allen wold make these comments despite the fact he was never on campus when Manziel was there - if he knew these issues were there, why did he go?
