Throughout his career at Westfield, Amos was a 3x All-State and All-Region selection. The 6-foot-4, 218-pound receiver caught 98 passes for 2,155 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Could be. Saw this comment under the article:

I know this kid very well and he has a lot of talent , but he will have to end up at TE . He can hold the weight with no problem and His speed will hurt him at wide out . He has played against very poor competition to say the least and He plays at a private school at which my kids go to school with him . He has had very poor coaching so the sky is the limit at our program . Cochran will make him a very good player for us . I can't wait to see what he can do with great coaching and someone really challenging him . He also has great hands . I hope this helps everyone out and if any questions feel free to ask .

If the observations are accurate, he may be something of a "project". That`s OK. One of the many advantages of our long term success in recruiting, IMO, is the flexibility to be able to take a shot at coaching up a player or two that the coaches feel may have some raw ability. Nice to be able to take a kid or two that maybe aren`t 4-5 * and that you don`t expect to contribute for 2-3 years but that can play a role sometime in the future.

I would think that almost any walk-on for Bama is a "project" (i.e. not really expected to contribute right away - or maybe ever).

This. Not many walk-on's aren't projects no matter the school.

Agreed. As long as he can give our defense good looks on the scout team he will have contributed. The odds are long for walk-ons to make it on the field. I know we have had a few good walk-ons so don't pound me with Raashad Johnson and Michael Wysander. They are big time exceptions and not the rule.
