Just to clarify, the charges aren't dropped just that the DA chose not to prosecute at this time..

Is it sad that what you just said was all I could think of when hearing this news?

In some weird, perverse and non-rational way, I almost wished we could take the licks and move forward so no one could breathe a word about Bama skipping out on consequences or having things fixed just so. Obviously, this is a better outcome, not just for the team but for the young men. Even knowing they are not out of the woods this is still better.

Uh... this occurred in Louisiana. Only the most tin foil hatted moron would believe this fix is in on this one. ​Though the REC does indeed work in mysterious ways.

Maybe, but from what we have heard Cam legally purchased the gun and it sounds like there was only a small amount of pot. Thinking it was just not enough to press charges or make it worth pressing charges. Glad this did not happen in Alabama since the REC rhetoric would be much louder than what I'm sure is already being discussed on many SEC message boards.

I am from Monroe and the DA, Jerry Jones, made it pretty clear that he was not going to drop the hammer on them since they had no real priors and both were good athletes that had busted their chops to get to the next level.

Corndogs are probably flipping out though.
