I have gotten used to this kind of boasting and bragging over the past decade. I guess you get the big head when every coach who recruits you tells you that you are the greatest. Some samples:

"They talk to me every day. They hit me up every day. They tell me how much they want me to get back down there and how much they want me at DB and how they think I can be a great player."

"Coach ________ says they want to build their defense around me and that I can start right away. They really need me there."

"They really want me bad. Coach ________ calls me everyday telling me how talented I am and how I can help them win a championship."

Blah, blah, blah. I think it is disgusting to think you are God's gift to football but that is the culture today.

note: only the first is a actual quote. I didn't bother to look the others up, just went from memory, but they will hold up under scrutiny.

If chad kelly hadn't already proven to be conceited I'd probably give him the benefit of the doubt in a case where seasoned media challenged him to speak about himself comparatively. But, Chad has been a punk for years, and this comment is just who he is.

Ever heard of the term "decleat"? That's what I hope happens to Mr. Kelly when he meets us...so that he's looking out of the earhole of his helmet.

I don't think Chad Kelly will be mentioned very much after the first game of the year vs FSU. They lose that game and I can see their season fall apart..

Well that's his opinion of himself. He can have that. We all know for a fact he is not. Stats don't back him up and he couldn't produce anything to contradict that. We've got to beat them this year though. Ole Miss is vastly overrated when it comes to be a powerhouse team.

I believe FSU is going to crush them. Maybe my bias is taking over my reasoning. I don't pull for FSU to win anymore these days after Winston, but I am pulling for Ole Miss to lose.

All he needed to say was, "I believe I'm the best QB in the nation", and all would be fine. But if you say you ARE the best QB in the nation, you better have the stats to prove it. And he doesn't.

He is second place for most interceptions though...

From NCAA passing efficiency:

Rank Name Team Cl Position G Pass Att Pass Com Int Pass Yds Pass TD Pass Eff
1 Vernon Adams Jr. Oregon Sr. QB 10 259 168 6 2643 26 179.1
2 Brandon Doughty Western Ky. Sr. QB 14 540 388 9 5055 48 176.5
3 Baker Mayfield Oklahoma Jr. QB 13 395 269 7 3700 36 173.3
4 Kevin Hogan Stanford Sr. QB 14 304 206 8 2867 27 171.0
5 Brandon Allen Arkansas Sr. QB 13 370 244 8 3440 30 166.5
6 Matt Johnson Bowling Green Sr. QB 14 569 383 8 4946 46 164.2

He's in a SMALL club. I think that factoid speaks more to OUR elite status.
Small AND elite. Knight and Kelly didn't just hand off the ball against us. They both torched our secondary. That being said, I agree and think it reflects very well on us that only two have tasted a victory against us.

You're right. Especially Knight, he earned it. Kelly's game against us looks A LOT different without those two plays... Man, we really need to crush OM and set the universe back in order.

Its not just Kelly flapping his gums. Another boasted about having our number at media days. Ole Miss is the biggest game on the schedule as far as I'm concerned.
