The Alabama men's basketball team will reveal the 2016-17 non-conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. CT. Fans will be able to watch the live video stream by clicking the embedded link, or by logging on to the Crimson Tide's official facebook page: www.facebook.com/AlabamaAthletics.

The event will begin promptly at 4 p.m. CT with a sit down interview with head coach Avery Johnson and radio play-by-play announcer Chris Stewart. Following the interview, in which coach Johnson will recap last season and preview the 2016-17 team, the schedule will be unveiled with a member of this year's team coming up to the stage one-by-one to reveal the opponent. Once an opponent is revealed, coach Johnson and members of the staff will make comments on that particular game.

Solid ooc schedule. If the team gels, we could win out in Vegas. Good job playing games in Birmingham and Huntsville to help recruiting.

Might have to check out the Clemson game in B'ham. Any chance to root against them is hard to beat (being that I'm a UNC fan too)

Not very excited by that schedule, especially the Coleman games. The highest profile team, Clemson, will be played on a Sunday in Birmingham. The best Coleman game is Dayton on a Tuesday night - preceded and followed by home Saturday football games. Three trips to T-town in a week is asking a bit much if you live almost 100 miles away. Hopefully we'll get an attractive home SEC schedule.

What if you like watching Alabama win basketball games though?

That's where the Tuscaloosa area has to show up. Due to late midweek tipoff times plus getting into and out of Tuscaloosa isn't always the easiest, fans from across the state aren't able to attend midweek games. The program has to appeal to the local fans to make up for the loss of the fans throughout the state who cannot attend the games.

If that's the most important thing for you, then you should see plenty wins, most of them of the lopsided variety. I, too, like to see Bama win at basketball but I can take a loss if we're playing quality opponents. I'm not asking for UCLA, Duke and Kansas every time we tip, but I'd like to see better names than Coastal Carolina, Ball St., Charleston So., USC-Upstate and Stetson (none of which is on a Saturday). I'll be watching every game, but if one of the program's objectives is to get me inside Coleman, that lineup won't do it. Again, hoping for an attractive home SEC schedule.

Tickets on Sale for 2016 Rocket City Classic Men’s Basketball Game

The game is only the second time the Crimson Tide has played in the Rocket City in school history, with the only other game coming during the 1999-2000 season (defeated Chattanooga, 75-51). The neutral-site game will be played in Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center and is set to tipoff at 8 p.m. CT on SEC Network. Tickets for the game are on sale now through Ticketmaster and at the Von Braun Center box office.

The Rocket City Classic is a part of Coach Johnson's initiative to showcase the Alabama men's basketball program throughout the state of Alabama. The team will also play a neutral site game in Birmingham on Dec. 18 against Clemson. Knight Eady will also produce the Dec. 18 game, called the Vulcan Classic.
