Perhaps the greatest football player to ever put on the Crimson. Still holds some records. Saw a replay of the Bama USC Rose Bowl from 1946. He was magical.
Maybe not the hands down greatest, but I don't think it's questionable that he was the most complete and versatile player to ever wear Crimson. I had a VHS sold by the Bryant Museum that was the 1945 Bama vs Georgia game. Harry Gilmer vs Charlie Trippi. I watched it so many times when I was a kid. Despite the horrible quality, and the missing footage, there was no question what a dominant baller Gilmer was.

RIP Harry! You'll always remain a legend in our hearts. May you throw many a jump pass in a better place.
