Clowns go active in Detroit.

Across metro Detroit this week, police have made numerous so-called "creepy clown arrests" involving incidents that range from the absurd to the dangerous, where men and women dressed as clowns are doing everything from scaring kids to robbing hotels and banks. Police have called these brightly-painted creatures "idiots," "morons" and "extremely dangerous."

"killer clown" craze is sweeping Britain, with police warning people against dressing as clowns in order to intimidate or harm people.

Now, the craze has taken a change for the strange in Cumbria, where a man is dressing as Batman and vowing to chase down the creepy clowns.

A photograph has been shared on Facebook of "Batman" seemingly chasing off a "killer clown".

BBC Cumbria reported local company Cumbria Superheroes is behind the effort to rid the streets of clowns.

I just figured out why there are so many clown sightings of late. These clowns had nothing to do after dropping out of the race.
