So, Brown will get to wear the Deuce? Does that mean that he will play some on special teams or offense?
Unless Jalen Hurts is changing his number, Tony isn't playing on offense.

LOL - duh.
But highly likely he'd be on the field at at the same time as Diggs <or> he had always wanted to wear #2 and it had been locked up by someone else...

Wonder how much competition Brown will offer at the corner positions. I really like Averett, I just like his story and his hard work but Brown seems to fall in that "too good to keep off the field" role. He's got good size so perhaps even safety is an option? Not saying there is a space open, just looks like the type of guy that could play anywhere in the secondary.

DeAndrew White and he both wore #2 but when they both were on the same special team unit Tony had to change his number to 7.

Re: Nick Saban knows verdict of Tony Brown's NCAA suspension appeal, he just can't re

The desire Saban has expressed - in the preseason especially - is for Fitzpatrick and Humphrey to play outside exclusively. Averett has done well but he's limited in his knowledge of the defense and they're locking him down at one corner position.

I think Tony Brown will eventually become our nickel corner if he earns the trust of the coaches. Hump and Fitz will man the outside exclusively. Averett has no reason to despair because he'll be opposite Fitz in 2017.
