ESPN Oregonizes Iconic Uniforms

Saw this earlier today. Just noticed 2 distinct Alabama uniforms. Even though the one on the left might be a good look for someone else (slightly modified, of course) - just no. Those things are horrible.
They showed three different Alabama unis.
The first one looked good as far as a uniform, and I'd own one of those jerseys, but not to wear them.
The second wasn't as good, but still wasn't bad. Not for us.
The third, which went full frontal Elephant, was a disaster that I can not unsee.

What I can't understand on most of the new fangled designs actually worn or those shown in the link would make one think that one of the school's primary colors is black or dark gray. In other words, they seem to minimize or even ignore the school's actual colors. Why would you do that?
