Going out on a limb here but in the wise words of Uncle Verne Lungquist "This ain't Kentucky" or in Kentucky's case next Saturday "This ain't South Carolina".They beat South Carolina yesterday 17-10.

Haha true! Will Muschamp is South Carolina's coach, your argument is invalid.
They kept diving at our knees with their helmets. This game was always about getting some reps and avoiding injuries. Hate to see so many dinged up in this game. Hopefully none of the injuries are serious.
We took it easy on KS...next week should be fun for the offense, kentucky cannot stop anyone
You realize that a player leading with his helmet is at far greater risk for injury that the player that he is targeting - even if going for legs - right? I watched the entire game and didn't see anything that looked dirty to me. Just smaller players going low to tackle bigger players - totally normal. They kept diving at our knees with their helmets.
IMO: Just as much targeting as going for the head.
I can see them adding it as another protection to the QB like they have in the NFL, but I don't think they can do it for other players. Simply not reasonable to ask players to tackle only at the waist. It's a question of time before hits on the knee and below will be outlawed. I have mixed feelings about it, but it's coming. There's been a spike in knee/ankle injuries since the new targeting rules and contact above the shoulders came in and the answer will be another rule to protect the lower joints...
