Vols had a nice comeback win against a folding Florida team. A&M has 2 quality wins. Of the two, A&M feels stronger, the Vols have had only one good half-game so far this season.

My go-to prediction site, Atomic Football, gives the Vols a 23% chance of beating Bama. This feels about right. They also play A&M, a 45%-55% game according to Atomic Football.

Just plugging into their "play god" mode, Alabama beating both A&M and Tennessee (if those were our next two games) would put us at over .95. That'd be first place by a full .1, absurdly high.

Computer rankings this early in the season are almost always screwy.
Yep, Sagarin has LSU rated over Wisconsin, despite Wiscy beating them and LSU having two losses. That said, the computer rankings play to a mean and usually need more data points before they start to truly reflect accurate rankings.

Yup, and not only that but the BCS would drop the outliers in computer rankings, so by the end of the season the computer rankings tended to make a lot more sense. But they can be really weird early on, and admittedly still do weird things near the end of the season (like rank a 6 loss team extremely high due to SoS).
