Re: What happened to Eddie Jackson?

It was a horse collar type tackle. Foot was planted. This sucks. That kid deserves better. Not cool.
I appreciate the reply my friend..That's the tackle I thought it was..It made me cringe when it happened cause of how dangerous & painful it looked..

Re: What happened to Eddie Jackson?

Oh no! I didn't see what happened....since I was listening in and out for the second half. Just heard he was carted off. :(

this is so sad for him and a huge loss for us. Maybe the defense can rally around him and play for him.
He was returning a punt (pretty well too) when he was WWE neck-tackled from the side. It put an inordinate amount of pressure on his right leg causing the break...

Re: What happened to Eddie Jackson?

Going back to a time when Julio Jones was returning kicks , when there was no depth or any semblance of an adequate replacement , I felt as though the potential reward was not anywhere near being worth the risk . In my opinion , putting Eddie back to return punts was an even greater risk since the Safety positions are obviously as critical as they are thin . Plus , Xavian Marks has clearly proven he can handle the task of returning punts .

I think Jackson was the most irreplaceable defensive player on the roster . Prior to this injury , I would've put the odds of Alabama winning a 17th title at around 75 or 80 percent . Now ? Depending on playoff opponents , the odds are probably down to no better than 15 or 20 percent .

Anyhow , as Coach Stallings would say , JOMHO :frown:

That's a little extreme. We don't face anything more than average QBs until we get to the playoffs. And besides, Eddie's punt returns haven't just been superfluous scores. Some have been the difference in the game or completely swung momentum.

I do agree though that Eddie is the biggest loss we could have on our defense. Along with special teams and ON the field leadership, he's indispensable.

I agree with that. I don't agree with us suddenly barely having a chance to win the West, let alone an NC.

Extreme ? Any QB , no matter how average , can hit wide open receivers against any misaligned secondary . Besides , prior to any playoff opponent , LSU and especially the barn are now much more dangerous teams than they were four hours ago .

Consecutive replies to phantom statements which have not been made , such as "no chance to win the west" and "You're right , we're done" makes YOU very close to being done ....

Re: What happened to Eddie Jackson?

I noticed the one player that was eventually ejected but didn't notice anything else but could have missed it. What did you see? I didn't see anything dirty with the tackle on Jackson.
Beginning of the game CB punched One of our guys after the play. Several cheap shots out of bounds
