Well, Auburn averages 302.9 yards rushing, but that's somewhat inflated due to the 540 yard performance this past weekend. They're third in rushing while we're ninth at 264.8.

We also pass for 233.3 ypg (62nd) and Auburn for 198.1 (96th).

Our TOTAL OFFENSE is 3 yards per game less than Auburn (they're 14th and we're 15th). And they have two losses while we have none against the 11th ranked schedule in the nation (theirs is 19th per Sagarin).

So the offenses are dead even, the defenses are dead even, and Alabama has played a somewhat tougher schedule.

To put their offensive statistics into prospective, they had 696 yards against Ark State, 450 rushing yds and 660 yds against ULM, 375 rushing yds.

You take out these two cupcakes, their rushing yards per game average is 259 yards against Power 5 opponents.


You take these two cupcakes, their total yards per game average is 430 yards against Power 5 opponents.

In contrast our two games against cupcakes were against Western KY and we had 475 total yards with 124 yards rushing and Kent State and we had 502 total yards with 285 yards rushing.

Our total yards and rushing yards averages are lower against the cupcakes and therefore is higher against Power 5 opponents.

Throw in the somewhat inflated 540 yards against the Hogs the Barn stats are overly bloated.

One thing I have seen with this Bama team. They play together and win together. Even when the chips are down, it never seems like they are going to lose. Aubren may have gadget plays, but overall, I don't think they have enough to hang with Alabama. Unlike 2010 and 2013, I am not concerned.

2010 and 2013 they were undefeated in the regular season. thx to a Les Miles lsu coached team, auburn should have 3 losses by now.

It's crazy to think Saban still hasn't beaten the Barn 3 years in a row in his tenure at Bama.

I heard it said today that Saban is 1-3 against a RANKED barn team. I think we will add another win to that record next month, but like I've said before I dont think they are intimidated one bit by us and will be very relaxed with nothing to lose when they walk onto the field at BDS in a few weeks.

2007 is just kinda what it is, year one...it was probably closer than it ought to have been at either rate. 2010 and 2013 were two of the best Auburn teams ever. Do we think that this Auburn team is one of their best ever? I don't see a Cam Newton on this team...I think we shut them down.

They were ranked in 2011 and 2014, so Saban's record against ranked barn is 2-2 with his players. Had a dozen things happened differently in both games he'd be 4-0 against ranked or 8-0 overall since 2008. As has been pointed out, the best auburn teams in decades won by 1 point(with $cam) in 2010 and were tied(after an illegal TD pass) going into OT in 2013.

So i hear Bruce Pearl is at the barn now......
