LOTS of chatter and predictions going in favor of Alabama regarding Petty and Sexton

If I were giving a percentage on how good it felt about these two, Sexton would be a 90% and Petty (since cancelling his visit, setting an announcement date) would be about 70%.

IF we land both, added to current class, it's the best class we've ever had on paper.

They are both announcing on November 10 (although I've been told Petty might give a hint this weekend).

Will Alabama have a top five class?

If Alabama were to both prospects to a class that already includes Alex Reese, Herb Jones and Gavin Smith, the 2017 Tide class would jump to No. 2 in the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings as it currently stand according to the Class Calculator. The class would likely remain at least a top five class after the recruiting dust of 2017 settles.

The last few days.. lot of people provided their opinions on where Petty "should" go and they feel like he should go to Kentucky because it's a proven system and that Alabama is struggling. It's real amazing how little they know about the current state of Alabama basketball. If Petty and sexton commits to Bama, this is a huge game changer going forward. Get to the touranment this year, and we'll be able to steal few players from Kentucky and other schools.

Are recruits starting to back off Kentucky, at least a little, because Calipari is flirting with the NBA ever offseason? I read a report that he would have left Kentucky last year but couldn't get as much money as he wanted from one of the NBA teams..

This is my opinion, but on Petty: I really felt like Calipari slow played Petty and Petty was wise to move the announcement date up to see what Kentucky would do, and I think that's the best thing he could do, because if He had waited til December or January, He probably would've regretted waiting so long for Kentucky when he had other options. I have no idea to this date why Kentucky doesn't have commitments by now and on top of that next year he'll lose lot of guards and I would think that by now, he should lock up 4 or 5 players and not having to worry about recuiting hard during the season. I think the flirt with NBA is what hurting him right now.

I told someone the other day that if you want to get to NBA within two years, Go to Kentucky, but if you want to take the time to develop the game and be potentially ready when NBA comes calling, then go somewhere else. Their system is only good for 1 and 2 year players. On top of that, Out of all Kentucky players that made to NBA, how many are still playing or receiving significant playing time?

He currently has 17 players in the NBA (not counting those like Noel who are, but are injured add them in and it's 20), and 12 are starters/heavy rotation guys. The other 5 play minutes, but are deep bench guys really. He's had 29 guys go to the NBA either via draft or FA tryouts.

There are a lot. The one and done players would be great no matter where they played. He did not so much develop them as give them a place holder for a year.

Man ... I'm getting the feeling of watching fb recruiting back in 2009. Definitely some great positives going on with us at least being considered. Good job CAJ
