About two weeks ago, Saban said he's not sure if Shank plays again this season. He's yet to clear concussion protocol.

He might not play again period. It's purely a medical decision. Apparently he's already had several. Personally, I hope he chooses being able to chew solid food and watch his kids grow up one day. I just couldn't take the chance given the knowledge we have on these things now.

Poor guy. He was getting back to where he was last year then bam. Hope nothing for the best for him.

Its a shame...but you don't play around with concussions. Did anyone notice how big he was at Senior Day? He was huge -- without pads on.
Seems like his football career is over. Hope he can leave with a couple of rings and no longer term issues at this juncture.
