Re: Why Lane Kiffin isn't a slam dunk to get a head coaching job

Nobody is slam dunk for anything these days. That being said, someone will give Lane Kiffin another HC gig someday. He's not Jerry Sandusky for goodness sake. I do think Oregon would be a reasonable fit, though, my preference is for him to stay at the Capstone.

I had not heard the Joey Freshwater story. I googled a bit and all I can say is "Wow".

CNS is micromanaging Kiffin here. Its why we don't see any of his antics.

I've heard from students that have seen Kiffin trolling the Tuscaloosa bars

There are coaches with worse reputations that currently have power 5 jobs. Not naming any names...

I think Baylor would take him - they would take Art back if it wouldn't raise a major ruckus.

He seems to be a train wreck as a man, but he sure can run an offense.

He can leave if he wishes, but his contract runs through February. If he leaves before the playoffs, he was fired, he didn't "leave".

Where there is smoke...LK is probably gone -- LSU or wherever...but that is ok. He's done a great job, but is still showing some signs of immaturity. Sarkisian is a worthy replacement from all that I have seen, but what do I know? I do say again that I hope he leaves with class and that we let him leave in that way. I just retired from a church after 14 1/2 years...yes, I will work again, but right now I am enjoying life and not worrying about what I cannot (could not) control.
