Didn't we use a heavy dose of him and Hand last year against Watson in the 2nd half?

Yes, we played a very different package/alignment. We had RE in a lot and he played ILB back in a traditional sense, but also often walked up on the line between our DL, not out as a speed rusher like usual. Sometimes he'd rush, most of the time he didn't though, and kinda hung back waiting for Watson to break the pocket and then RE was there to clean him up. When he did rush we had another of the faster guys like Anderson/Williams slide from the end to the middle to shadow. Worked pretty well honestly.

Others have mentioned though, the challenge will be getting RE more comfortable in coverage. ILB is new to him this year and coverage is the biggest change. I think he'll be fine on run fits, and sometimes even if he hesitates a tad in his initial reaction he's likely fast enough to make it up. Coverages though are about knowing where to be with a lot of variables going on and his raw speed won't always be able to make up for a miss.

At least Evans is going to get a mini-camp in the first half of practices leading up to the game...he's got the pure talent, so maybe they can get the familiarity.
