Another of my childhood heroes is gone. Maybe one of the single most important eras of the 20th century, NASA's space program and the Mercury astronauts. He was the last survivor. A truly great American. Godspeed John Glenn.

Nothing but respect and awe for his life, his courage, and his dedication to service. Our nation could use more like him right now. RIP, Sir.

Hate to see another one of the famous aviators of the WWII era leave us. Of those from the book "The Right Stuff", Chuck Yeager is the only one I can think of that is still with us.
