if I were 65+ and famous I believe I'd check into a hospital for the remainder of this cursed year
This is another one of those guys that I thought had already gone. I may have confused him with another astronaut. RIP Mr. Glenn.
Took guts to fly in that tub of rivets. Rocket was really unreliable at the time too.RIP

Another of my childhood heroes is gone. Maybe one of the single most important eras of the 20th century, NASA's space program and the Mercury astronauts. He was the last survivor. A truly great American. Godspeed John Glenn.
The end of an era.....yet I'm so appreciative to be old enough to remember these fantastic times in our country.

Good article on the Mercury astronauts and their courage. Most of us older guys remember the awe of the televised launch and splash down recovery. Another chapter in American history is closed. Godspeed John Glenn.

Nothing but respect and awe for his life, his courage, and his dedication to service. Our nation could use more like him right now. RIP, Sir.
Hate to see another one of the famous aviators of the WWII era leave us. Of those from the book "The Right Stuff", Chuck Yeager is the only one I can think of that is still with us.
