For those of us who watched the LSU/UT game after banging our heads against the walls to forget that loss to Farm Tech. Did you notice after half time when they interviewed Les Miles as he was coming back on the field. He was speaking with so much passion he could hardly contain himself during the interview.

He even got censored for swearing. Then in the second half I noticed the frequent camera cuts to the sidelines and he is in the face of his players motivating them. And what happens??? They win the game cause that kind of passion is mirrored on the field by your players. I wish Shula would start to show some energy on the sidelines instead of standing there like a statue. This team needs to show some spirit.

BTW I watched Rudy yesterday....even though I hate Notre Dame thats a great movie...

Les Myles has the talent and he also knew what to do yesterday to motivate the LSU Tigers. His half time speech according to ESPN News was one for the history books. I guess Coach Shula's wasn't very effective. Yes I did see his (Coach Myles) half time comments and that was about as passionate a coach could be.

Did you also notice how on LSU's final drive, they didn't just try to set themselves up for the field goal to tie the game. They showed some guts to go after a touchdown to win the game. I love that aggressive, we want to win attitude. We used to be that way you know.

I was thinking the same thing, BamaBoy06. I think that CMS's NFL experience prevents him from showing his emotions and "getting into the faces" of his players. A majority of his coaching years have been spent in The League and coaches cannot act that way without upsetting the all the millionaire players and having them just quit on you and getting you fired. IMO, that is one of the things that CMS will have to change if he is going to be successful at the college level.

Brother you said a mouthful. This is what is really wrong with Alabama. They are accepting mediocrity and it flows from the top. I am so tired of hearing that we just need to make a few more plays, we are very close to being good and oohh our oponent is playing very well. Get p.o'd and kick some a..es and take some names. We need to quit acting like a bunch of sniveling babies and start having some pride again.
Oh yeah, and if i see another player acting all tough for finally making a decent play after 50 bad ones i am going to vomit. Get some da.ned discipline going. Rattle some cages. Geezus, do something. Take responsibility for something. This isn't Vanderbilt you are coaching.

Could not agree more. He was running to players that were sliding out of bounds to help them up and slap them on the butt. He was high fiving players. He was motivating them, and HE helped them win the game yesterday.

The coach cannot do it by himself, but he can make sure he gives everything he has to help them win.

There is the difference. LSU playing to win instead of Bama playing not to lose. Miles has confidence in his offense. Shula does not and for good reason.

Now the real question is, why doesn't Shula have confidence in his offense? It is "his" offense, his plays and his play calling. I have seen Alabama stuffed more times inside the 10 yard line than I care to remember. Whose fault is that? How many times have we needed a yard and can't get it?

I'm still sick.

It really gets bad when a 14 year old boy makes the comment that there isn't any fire in the coach or players at Bama. He said the coach shows NO emotions on the sidelines. I overheard the boy telling his dad this. I think this smart young man hit the nail on the head 100%.

I hate to break this whine fest up with a different opinion. I doesn't seem like that long ago...2004 I believe it was, that people were talking about Coach Shula getting onto the refs....I believe what I heard was a bunch of people complaining about Mike "F-bomb" Shula not being classy enough. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about what happened yesterday....but his sideline demeanor has never won or lost us a game...PERIOD. I'd rather not have the announcer on CBS say... "Those of you at home can read his lips"...like he said about Les Miles yesterday. If yall were coaches, you would all be fired for being micromanagers....flame away:smile:

I remember when Mike Price was fired from UA, and the HC search was on at BAMA.
Les Miles was mentioned(although) I don't remember how serious as a possible HC candiate. I read his resume' on another internet site, and I thought... "HMMMMM" he might be a good fit at UA. All I can do now is wonder
what he could have acomplished at BAMA. I agree he is a GOOD coach, and appears to have the savy, passion and motivation for his team to win.

I dread that LSU game.:p_sad: No doubt his team will be prepared.

Wow! Are you my doppelganger posting twin? This makes too much sense to be a popular post, though.

Les Miles is good for one loss per year minimal that is from his boneheaded decisions and poor prep. It will probably be this week.

Check his track record. He loses at least one per year that he should not.

When you have been exposed to lester a bit more, you'll fully understand. He's a bonehead, his mouth will get him in trouble. He can coach, but I wouldn't want my kid playing for him.
