Re: Jimbo Fisher!!!!!

I second that. Forget all of these wanna be HC's who would probally fall of their face in the SEC. Get a good SEC offensive minded assistant and bring him in to work with Kines. NOW!

Re: Jimbo Fisher!!!!!

If MM resorts to looking at coordinators, perhaps he should start with Ron English at Michigan.

Re: Jimbo Fisher!!!!!

I think the press release used the words "proven head coach," so that'd leave Fisher out of the picture.

Re: Jimbo Fisher!!!!!

Good choice, but since he is not a head coach he will not be given a shot. Unless MM decides to find the BEST COACH available rather than the best HC available, which could be the 40th best coach in the NCAA.

Also, we don't want Bobby Johnson.

I would hope MM would see the writing on the wall. Unless a sitting head coach comes out and says he is willing to come to Bama, then we will just get played over and over. Apparently there are not many HCs that are the same ilk as Fran. Most of the successfull HCs were once successful coordinators somewhere.

Re: Jimbo Fisher!!!!!

I understand that Mal said he wanted a proven head coach. However, it may be time to modify the qualifications a little bit. Jimbo Fisher sounds like he would be a very good hire. If we have a chance at him, we ought to try to get him imo.

Completely agree. I suggested Jimbo be hired as head coach...before Shula was even fired. Modify your criteria Mal, or you're gonna hire a crappy "proven head coach" and claim that he's a gem.

Re: Jimbo Fisher!!!!!

I'm confused. UAB has a head coach.
You clearly haven't heard all the stuff going on behind the scenes. Yall's boy Bryant Jr. has apparently spent more time trying to block UAB from getting rid of Watson and hiring someone new that he couldn't assist in yall's coaching search. However, UAB's President has made it clear that she doesn't what Watson coaching at UAB again. And if he did what's been rumored, he won't be back in any capacity whatsoever. Probably why, as ABC just reported, he interviewed for the Tennessee Tech job yesterday. Watson is gone... it's just not official. Based on what he's done, there's no way the weasel gets his job back.

Bryant Jr. is the system's boy. And you're right. I don't follow UAB's football program.
