The experts seem to have jumped off the Bama bandwagon pretty quickly this year. FSU is going to be another tight game, but I think their ineptitude on offense gives us the edge.

I think if Bama had played a little better against GA they would have been favored. I expect some things that happened last week against GA will be corrected and that Bama will play much better, but the 'noles have had an extra week to prepare. I can understand the close pick, but I think Bama will win. Looks to be a great game.

Nothing like being the underdog for motivation. I also noticed that on the EXPERTS picks, they list it as Alabama @ FSU. Surely they realize its a neutral site.

Unfortunately, one of the main "things that happened" was Mustin being out. We don't know yet if that "will be corrected". His presence on the field makes a HUGE difference in how the defense plays. Hopefully he will be 100% by Saturday.
Yep.

Of course, the first 10 points were scored while the defense was gelling and looking quite lost without Mustin. I thought overall the D looked much better after the first quarter.

IOW, we need Mustin, but UGA wouldn't have scored nearly as much on us if we had played the way we did the final three quarters.

The question is if we (specifically #21) can IMPROVE on the last 3 quarters and the D can gel a bit more.

I actually hope to see Knight in a LOT @ LB on Saturday - he was a difference maker on D for us.

But in the end I think if we can play for 4 Q's like we did for 3 Q's on Saturday we will stuff their run. But what about the pass?

For the first time this season I do not think the key comes when our D is on the field. I think we can hold them to 21 or so. Our offense, on the other hand, has the capability to put 35 on the board against their D..... if we can execute, which mainly comes down to JPW completing more of his passes which will set up a lot more running. Last Saturday we were facing too many Man and Man+1 looks from the UGA secondary - if we can force them into Cover 2 for most of the game I think Terry Grant will get 100+ yards and 3 TDs.

After watching the game again on TIVO it looked like McClain was having some issues getting the Defense set early in the game. I think that Mustin probably corrects some of McClain's misses where Prince I heard stays quiet. Either way, being on the field for an extended period of time has alot to do with how our Defense plays and that falls back on the Offense. We have to do a better job on that side of the ball of stopping the 3 and outs.

IMHO we needed to run more last week to set up the play action pass. There was way too much pressure on JPW last week, play action will slow that down.
I thought TG got too few touches and Coffee looked strong but was only used in the "2 minute" offense and in the fourth quarter comeback. We need to get back to some power football and then hit them with play action and screens.

Not only do you have to run to set up the play action, you have to be successful at the run to draw the Secondary up for the play action to work. I agree with you, it would be nice to get FSU to respect our running game so not only can we get them to bite on play action but also put us in manageable 3rd down distance. The biggest problem and it sounds like a broken record is when your QB is off when we pass on early downs and then we are forced into clear passing situations on 3rd and long.
