I would like to see Fulmer break Neyland's record for winniingest ut coach in the 10th year of a new contract. He deserves it.

Interesting that his personal goal now is to break Neyland's win record. If I was a UT fan, I would prefer his goal being to win another National Championship! It just reinforces my belief that once he achieved that goal, he relaxed with the "been there, done that" attitude.

As always, fatboy speaks out both sides:
"It's never been about money; it's never been about fame," Fulmer said. "I just enjoy the job."
But what he really covets:
Fulmer, 57, won't publicly admit it, but there is a personal record he aspires to reach. Fulmer is 27 wins away from passing Neyland as UT's all-time winningest football coach.
It's not really about "enjoying the job" it's about feeding his massive ego. He wouldn't know the truth if he met it in the street.

Frankly, I don't care who leads them - I will want to beat UT every year regardless. Big Al could coach the Vols and I would still root for one of our linebackers to overrun a play out of bounds and drop a shoulder into him.

Phat Phil just makes it easier to not feel bad about wishing (temporary) harm on someone.

But best of all, this means for 10 years they won't have a better coach than we have on the sidelines.

If I was in charge at UT, I would try to run off his sorry hide before he surpassed the General. Fulmer is a disgrace to UT football and college athletics in general. To have his name above Neyland's in the record books would be an outright shame.

Flip-flop Fulmer, exactley. I hope we start a streak in Knoxville come October, and extend the streak in Atlanta against them in December. Id love nothing more than to say we beat you 3 times in 2 years.

If it's "not about the money," as he says, I wonder if he'd take a 50% pay cut and give that 50% distributed out to his assistants, based on job title.

Put your money where your mouth is, Phatimus.

UTenn was at or near the top of the college football world in the late 90's. I've said it once, and i'll say it again: If Phat Phil would have concentrated on UTenn success instead of bringing Bama down, he would be one of the most respected, successful coaches in the nation right now. His hatred for Bama and his actions against the Bama program brought down not only himself but the program at UTenn.
