What would be amazin is if anybody went to see it that wasn't clad in arnge and blue. They'd better hurry and get it on film, cuz after they have a couple of bad seasons this year and next, auburn shirts are gonna approach extinction level once again.
Why? That team won exactly Richard Shatt. Of course the boogs ARE prone to get overly excited over teams that don't collect any hardware, after all, that's their history. :biggrin:
BTW, isn't "The Amazins" the nickname for the Mets? Can't barners come up with anything original? Oh wait, for a minute I forgot about "The People's Championship," I guess that was original.
man..... i hate auburn. i realize that i wasnt even baking in the oven when this game was played but still it sux to know we lost like that. im just assuming thats where the "punt bama punt" phrase comes into play. if they were gonna make a movie about college football why didnt they make it about Coach Bryants first year on campus? this movie is a joke compared to his story. Well, at least they're being honest about where they stand in the great scheme of things. I mean, the word "great" might be a stretch... but they are under the porch. Even when they manage to win all their games. It's sad.
Ah, it's tough being an overdog in trying times! It's not fair is it? Let Alabama win 12 next year and see where the rings go.
All that needs to be said is THIS IS NOT A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE! It won't even hit the shelves of Best Buy. After filming is complete, Warner Brothers or some major motion picture company may purchase the rights to the film, but it will never be distributed nation wide and that's a fact. The only place you'll find this DVD will be strictly within the borders of Opelika, and nowhere else!
PS: Did Alabama defeat them that year? I notice where not a single thing is said about Alabama on the site and that's VERY UNUSUAL for Alabama Polytechnic Institute not to mention ANYTHING about Alabama... is the sky falling?
Really? They finished 2nd in the CONFERENCE, not the nation. Amazingly enough, EVERY conference in the country has a 2nd place finisher EVERY year and they aren't having movies made about them.
Wonder how much mention their 7-35 loss to LSU will get?

And you're right, "The Amazin's" is another in a long line of imagination theft by the Barn. It is indeed the nickname for the Mets.
So they were 9-1 in 1971, and only loss was to a very good Alabama team. Yet they are "underdogs" in 1972? Sounds like Hollywood drama spin.
