Here's another great cover of the beautiful 1966 Simon and Garfunkle classic "For Emily whenever I may find her"

What I dream I had, pressed in organdy,

Clothed in crinoline of smoky Burgundy,
Softer than the rain.
I wandered empty streets down past the shop displays.
I heard cathedral bells tripping down the alley ways, as I walked on.

And when you ran to me, your cheeks flushed with the night.
We walked on frosted fields of juniper and lamplight, I held your hand.
And when I awoke and felt you warm and near,
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears.
Oh, I love you, girl. Oh, I love you.

And the original:

Sounds for Saturday-Recorded December 8 1971. Elton John plays the entire Madman Across The Water album, except for All The Nasties.

On a personal note....used to lay on our living room carpet floor listening to Elton on the radio late at night on our Motorola console after my folks had gone to bed. It left a lasting and profound impression on me about how personal a piece of music can really be.
