date became 5/17. Sadly, that meant the U of A wasn't in session for classes AND it was up against the Zep a day later in Bham.

I think it is an acquired taste. They definitely have a cult following.I must say that my appreciation for music doesn't include the "Dead", only a couple of songs. Just a preference issue. Never has been something I've acquired!
