If given 100k...what would you spend it on?

This is going to sound like I am taking the whole "Cheesy" or "Parental" answer but I would spend it on buying my wife a new car and then putting the rest towards my kids education.

I would buy a new shirt, the wife would spend the rest.

I really need a new fishing boat but 100K would just be a down payment on what I want. Ocean 50 Super Sport.

Mrs. VJ says she doesn't want me to have a motorcycle because of the danger and I don't need to spend the money right now. Yet, if she wins the lottery, there'll be plenty of money for my mid life crisis needs.

Maybe with a few million she won't need me anymore!

I would buy a new car, and invest the rest. Aside from typical investments, I would look hard a buying a franchise.

I can vividlmy mother talking about what she called>>

"found money". This is money not earned, but rather given to her in some other manner. Her comment was to always enjoy "found money"...with that in mind, I'd buy and RV so I could go to (I'm not supposed to talk about sports, but...) Alabama football games in style.

Sorry, you asked and I had to answer honestly.

I would spend mine on Jim Beam and a Motor Home. I could enjoy both on Game Days!

Ask What about a million

Hey...if that's just a hundred thousand, that wouldn't go very far, but I do need a new car, so I guess it'd pay for one, and the rest I would invest, but what is left over wouldn't bring in many dividends.

Ask us what we'd do with a million.

My kids college fund -- I figure by the time they get there ... that should take them through a year or two!

10% to my church
60% toward my kid's college education (pay off PACT fund for both, rest in their mutual funds)
30% towards remaining principal on house mortgage

Good point, tidehawk, about the 10% toward church.

I'm afraid I'd have to give the whole sheebang to the church; I've been stiffing them all these years.
