Wanting to buy a used car

I know I will get laughed at for this, but I am looking for a used car...and a particular make. It was the first car I ever owned and it got fantastic gas mileage. It was also, oddly enough, very fun to drive.

I don't NEED another car. I just want it.

What kind?

a Chevrolet Chevette

I am not picky about the year, or whether or not it has AC. I just want a bog standard Chevette in decent shape. The color does not matter (though I don't really like the brown ones). The most important things are (1) condition and (2) it has to be really cheap.

They seem to be hard to find.

my friend used to drive one of those! he used to tell everyone he drove a vette, just did not explain it was not the fast kind.

Need one closer and preferably cheaper. The blue book on a bog standard 86 with less than 100k miles in EXCELLENT condition is only $1175. They are not classic cars and older/higher mileage ones in "fair" condition (which is about as good as you can expect that age car) should only sell at $500 or so. For some reason, they are often priced higher than they are worth.
