I understand a lot of people strongly disagree with what the critics have to say (for what reason I have no unearthly idea), but let's face it, setting aside the amazing special effects of the first film, it wasn't anything spectacular. It scored a 57% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which in all honesty, got what is was worth.
The second film, however, is down to a raunchy 24%, and on average, the RT percentage rating ALWAYS decreases after the movie's released. Folks, that is just sad, especially for a epically MASSIVE film.
You guys let me know how terrible it is because I won't be wasting my money on this garbage. I already know the special effects will be amazing, but when you don't have an intriguing story and a plot worth buying into at the least, the movie is still an epic failure.
Hopefully this will put an end to this dreadful Bay franchise -- or at least clean house on all the crew: namely the writers and director.

I saw it yesterday and was a little disappointed. Not for the plot or storyline, but with some of the raunchiness...
I won't get into to it too much in regards to some who will go see it, but be prepared if you take your kids. I went to watch it so when/if I take my kids, I would know what to expect. I heard that one of the main characters/robots gets killed/destroyed and wanted to be ready for my six year old to start with the questions. But my biggest concern is him seeing dogs humping, the two "ghetto" robots calling each other names, including "p----y", and a few other things.
Guess I needed to take the PG-13 rating a little more seriously.

I thought it was great. I also thought the first one was great.. It just reminded me of being a kid, eating my bowl of cereal and watching transformers. Some of you guys take these movies too seriously.. they arent meant to be great cinematic masterpieces. Some times its just fun to see stuff get blown up.

I agree with you, I loved it. I saw it yesterday. I loved the special effects, and enjoyed the story especially the litttle twist here and there, like the part the special sector 7 agent from the first played in the second.
Me, my wife and boys loved it. Ya, if I knew it had some of the language it had, I proboly wouldn't have taken my boys. They just wanted to the robots anyways. I'd give it a solid B maybe higher if I was grading it. The graphics were great, the story was good. I don't believe what critics say anyways. So the lower they put it, the more I want to see it.
RTR!
You guys really liked it? Maybe I should see it after all! I thought the first one was okay, but if the storyline lacks luster, and the plot is too simple, I won't be the first to say I liked it.
I may give this one a chance though, even though I highly doubt I'll like it. To you guys that have seen it, do you feel it was better than the first, or vice versa?

Overall, I thought it was good, I just wasn't crazy about some of the scenes that could have been left out and some of the language. But then again, its PG-13.
The special effects were cool and since part of it was filmed at the Udvar-Hazy Air/Space Museum near here, the next time I take my boys there they'll be looking for Jetfire.
Go see it...its good, but you'll like it.

Ditto. I enjoyed it. I liked the first one too, but I think this one might have been slightly better, it certainly had more action.

Definitely better than the first. Can't wait to see it again.
I loved the movie. Like a couple others said there were a couple of scenes I could have done without, but overall it was a great movie in my humble opinion.
