Best Acting Performances of All-Time

Share

I caught a few minutes of "Awakenings" with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro, and I was reminded at how amazing Robert DeNiro was as patient Leonard Lowe.

What are the best acting performances you've seen?
Here's a top 6 list for me, in no order:
- Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone in The Godfather
- Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs
- Robert DeNiro as Leonard Lowe in Awakenings
- Dustin Hoffman as Raymond Babbitt in Rain Man
- Daniel Day-Lewis as Christy Brown in My Left Foot
- Jack Nicholson as R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Surely there are some others that are on the all-time best list. Any recommendations?

-Al Pacino as Michael Corleone in The Godfather, The Godfather II
-Robert DeNiro as Jake Lamotta in Raging Bull
-Kenneth Branagh as King Henry V of England in Shakespeare's Henry V

The woman I had to respond to the other night who was faking a seizure. It really was Oscar material!

Or ANYTHING involving Jack Nicholson... hence the reason he's the greatest actor ever!

He played Gen. Longstreet; Jackson died prior to Gettysburg.

I'll nominate Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in Tombstone.
