Mac Powell of the Christian Band, Third Day, was on Rick and Bubba this morning. I knew that he was from Clanton, but didn't know until today that he was a huge Bama Fan. They were discussing the Sporting News list of the Top 50 Coaches and he kept iterating that CPB should be #1. He's a good guy, good singer, and a huge Bama fan. He's the one on the right in this pic:
That is awesome! Third Day is a great Christian band! Glad to see he is on both good teams, God's and Bama's!
I was under the impression they were the same team?

I remember my first game as a child and the amazing feeling I got when I first walked into Bryant-Denny. I still get that same feeling every single game.
Working in Christian radio in the Mobile area, I've known this for a while. At one Third Day concert here a few years back, Mac said from stage in front of 8 thousand people "I'm gonna make some of you mad with this statement, but I'm in Alabama so... ROLL TIDE!!
Mark Harris (formerly of 4HIM) is another in Christian music that's a big Bama fan (and there are a bunch out there in the industry).
The only group I know of that are Auburn fans is a group out of Montgomery called "Rush of Fools"

How fitting lol

"Well, this is the second time this season now that Florida has found itself trailing in a ball game, they were down 7-0 against Kentucky. There are few truths in an uncertain world, but here's one, this ain't Kentucky!" - Verne Lundquist during Alabama’s thrashing of Florida in 2005.
When I saw Third Day in concert, I was amazed at Mac Powell's strong singing voice, as well as the band's ability. He pointed out that he was from Clanton and a huge Alabama fan. This was in Montgomery, so there were as many boos as there were cheers, but I did my share of cheering. He seems like a very genuine, down to earth guy.
I've been a bass-player for forty years now. I play in a little jazz/blues band on weekends and play in church every Sunday in the praise band.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Do any of you guys like Needtobreathe? They sing "Shine On", "Lay 'Em Down", "Washed By the Water"... Awesome band. Anyway, the lead singer's name is Bear, named after guess who? Their whole family is from the state (he said) and are Bama fans. Heard him interviewed on WDJC in B'ham. Thought that was cool and worth mentioning too.
Third Day is without question the best Christian band I have ever seen in concert...I was under the impression that they were from Marietta, GA. Good to know we have fans among the good guys.

Roll Tide!
They are from Marietta. Mac's family moved to Georgia when he was a kid.
