I'm sitting here listening to my iTunes library and I'll be darned if John Denver doesn't get to me every time! From Annie's Song to Leaving on a Jet Plane, I'm a blubbering mess.
Do you have an artist whose music does the same to you? Just makes your eyes leak no matter what?
Come on, boys, 'fess up! It can't be just me.

I've known guys that got choked up over "Freebird."
An episode on " that 70s show" had the kids dancing the FREEBIRD at their prom. Asked my wife, you ever dance to FREEBIRD...response...Not when I was sober
I've long been a Sinatra fan and always really liked The Way You Look Tonight.
Then, for the father/daughter dance at her senior band camp that was the song they played.
Lastly, at her wedding about a year ago, this was the song we danced for the father/daughter. Can still make me a little red-eyed.
That was our Father/Daughter dance at my daughter's wedding reception last Saturday. Except, she chose the Michael Buble' version, which is slower and more jazzy. And at well over 4 mins. it was a long time to be in the spotlight on the dance floor.
Tim O'Brien's "the Ribbon In Your Hair" gets me every time. We used it as our first dance at the wedding.
It has an irish folk/appalachian accompaniment to it:
Strollin' on the strand one day
Back in the fall of '49
The sun was sinkin' in the west
When somethin' caught my eye
And through the dim and misty light
I saw the ribbon in your hair
As you turned around I found true love then and there
We never even met that day
Fate kept you and I apart
And though I traveled far and wide
Your vision filled my heart
Through the dark and stormy nights
Deep inside I always knew
I'd find the path that would lead me back to you
Refrain:
Now as I behold your bright eyes smilin' back at me
It's as if by fate's decree that we have this love to share
You only have to take my hand
To take me back in time
To the picture in my mind
The way the twilight shined
Upon the ribbon in your hair
Now our home's a holy place
Bathed in love's abiding light
It warms my heart to hear you tell me
How it feels so right
And may all lovers be like us
And never rest until they find
The lasting love that can bring true piece of mind
On another note, i grew up listening to John Denver. Annie's song is one of my favorites, but ever since hearing a guitarist at a Mexican Restaurant in Arlington, VA about 10-12 years back sing it, all i hear now when it comes on is (use your imagination for the accent)

"You feel up my senses"
A band at a local place likes to play, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."
In the yungle, the mighty yungle,.....
That's now how I hear the song whenever it is played.
They would always take request. I'd request either something by Santana or a traditional Mexican song. Nice to venture off the beaten path.
