COMMENTARY: An Empty UPS Envelope
by NashvilleTider

Publisher's Note: NashvilleTider posted this blog post last weekend in our TideFans Blog section. I read it and thought it was a wonderful read. He's given me permission to publicize it here.

It came during the 1st week of August. My UPS driver flashed a big grin as he extended the envelope. "Alabama Fan Huh?" "Absolutely" I told him. I wondered if possibly my front lawn "Bama" sign gave it away or the thick packet coming from Tuscaloosa.

"Well, I've been delivering a few of these, but I've had a bunch of Tennessee ones also."

Cool enough, and to be expected since I live in Tennessee, but I really didn't want to chit-chat about hated UT or whether he thought Fulmer could survive the year. I wanted to check out the inside of that UPS envelope. He continued, "You know with UT tickets we have to get a signature, but not with Alabama tickets". Go head on Brown, enough chit chat, just give me the durn packet. What I really thought was that Alabama fans are more trustworthy, but I didn't say it.
