Will EA Sports High School Football ever happen?

Share

Does anyone think EA will ever come out with some kind of high school football game ? I know there is no way they could create all the teams obviously, but if they were to create say, the top 100 - 200 teams from around the country and then allow you to customize teams and form your own leagues, etc. it could work. They would really have to expand on the customizing options for teams, and probably even allow you to download your own artwork and logo's.

This could also be incorporated with the NCAA football, where if your player is good enough, college recruits visit, and when you sign with a team, then somehow work it in to the NCAA game, where you could import your signees.
I know it would take a lot for something like this to happen, but what are your alls ideas and opinions, and what would it take for something like this to actually happen. In some places high school football rules the town. Smaller towns, in Texas, Alabama, and I'm sure elsewhere.

The concept is deep, but the legal liablilities are also. Taking 200 to 250 og the finest HSFB teams in the country, including Hoover of course, would be a task. Most of the game, aside from the team names and uniforms would have to be generic. The players in the NCAA franchise are all listed by position or number. Customization would have to play a big factor in the game. Players especially.

Just like EA created "Head Coach", I think a spin off of NCAA Football is in order. A game based around college recruiting and all that it entails. More or less a "Campus Ledgend" mode spin off. Including rivals.com or scout.com in the mix might make things interesting to say the least. Just an idea.

Re: Will EA Sports High School Football ever happen?

I think a head coach spinoff for college would be a lot better than the NFL. With having to deal with recruiting and all that. If it were parterned with scout and rivals somehow, that would be pretty interesting. It could be worth buying.

Yea I understand it would be pretty complicated to do the high school game, but since a lot of gamers value the customization aspects anyways and having deep games, I think it could work. You'd have to get permission to use the "Hoover Bucs" name, logo's and stadiums, etc. but the players would have to be generic and totally customizable. For that matter if they didn't want to go through all that, they could just make the game totally customizable with teams.......and have some kind of automated feature to create teams if you just wanted to create say a few teams.

I think it would be a cool idea.......but we're probably years away from seeing that possibility.

Would rather see a state by state game where you would have all the teams in a certain state, etc. But I'd never get my hopes up about the game being made. Would be nice though

Re: Will EA Sports High School Football ever happen?

It would never happen. First it would cost to much money to scout the amount of teams needed to complete such a game. You also have to account for the Allen Bailey Syndrome. (Men playing with boys)

I think the game concept would be nice but it would be too much work for EA.

I said this on the Head Coach board. All the nice things from head coach will make it into Madden on 360. I think this will transfer to NCAA as well. I doubt that there will be a NCAA Head Coach, but who knows.
