Softball sells out stadium for 2009 season

Tuscaloosa -- Alabama softball has sold out its stadium for the second consecutive year, Beth Garner, Director of Ticketing, announced today.

The official count as of this morning was 1,608 tickets sold. Last year, the sell-out occurred Jan. 25. Alabama will open its 13th season of softball Feb. 7 at the South Alabama classic. The Tide will play Northwestern State at 10 a.m. followed by Memphis at 2 p.m.

The home opener is Feb. 13 against Notre Dame at 5 p.m.

Can't wait to see this years team in action!

I can't wait to see them play, this is my favorite senior class since they started the program, they have had at least one other class that might have been as talented, but I don't think they have ever had a class with this much personality and competitive edge.

Yes we have a legit shot. They have the senior leadership in place just like they did in 2005. But, this team has better and deeper pitching and more speed. It could be our year.
