Softball - Bama still #1 in both polls
ESPN//USA Softball Poll
USA Today/NFCA (Coaches) Poll Bama travels to Cathedral City (Palm Springs), CA this week for the Cathedral City Classic, the largest and most prestigious of the early season tournaments (32 teams, including 8 of the top 10 in this week's polls). The tournament is held at Big League Dreams Sports Park which has 3 Primary fields (Fenway, Yankee, & Wrigley) & 2 Secondary fields (DesMoines & Pawtucket). This weekend is a big, big test for the Tide, for so early in the year.
I went to this tourney several years ago; it is a very impressive venue. There will be some great softball played by all the teams that come, no slouches here. Man, we play UCLA, Oklahoma and Hawaii a very tough last three games. But, Florida is not dodging anyone either...Fresno St., Arizona St., and Washington. When the dust settles on this one there will have been some serious ball played.   RTR!
