Game 1
--------- Washington is going with ace Danielle Lawrie (who pitched both games yesterday) and Georgia is going with Sarah McCloud (who pitched the late game yesterday). Georgia takes a 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd on a lead-off double by Hesson who was driven in on a 2-out single by Pauly. Georgia gets another run in the top of the 3rd off a bunt single and steal by Schnake followed by by single by Hessen 2 out double. 2-0 Dawgs after 2-1/2. Felecia Harris replaces Danielle Lawrie in the circle to start the 4th inning. UGA's McCloud holds on to get a 3 hit shutout over Washington (UGA-Wash also split by identical scores). Lineup ------- Brittany Rogers, CF Kelley Montalvo, 3B Charlotte Morgan, DP Cassie Reilly-Boccia, RF Whitney Larsen, LF Lauren Parker, 2B Amanda Locke, 1B Kellie Eubanks, SS Ashley Holcombe, C ---------------- Kelsi Dunne, P Baylor will again have Whitney Canion in the pitching circle. 1st inning ---------- Rogers lead-off single to center, steals 2nd Montalvo walks Morgan reaches on a FC to 3B, Rogers safe at 3rd - bases loaded, no outs Elizondo to run for Morgan Reilly-Boccia strikes out GRAND SLAM HOMER to center by Larsen (4 RBIs) Parker lines out to 2B Locke strikes out T. Thoughts on the UGA/Washington game;
The combination of playing 4 games against UGA and Bama caused Washington to go to pitcher Danielle Lawrie way too much in the end. IMO they were fortunate to only take two losses this weekend. In the Bama/Baylor game our bats finally came to life. Bama is a team known for offense and it is nice to see it finally get untracked.  RTR!
