Re: Softball Polls for week of March 9-15

Interesting, ESPN inserts California over Arizona St.

I am not sure either one of them should be in there and I know Michigan shouldn't. Georgia is making a big push, I wonder if Lu will keep them focused through SEC play?

Georgia's offense apparently is for real and not just padded stats from feasting on cupcakes. Lawrie shut them down the first time, but they hit Baylor hard both times, then jumped on Lawrie the second time they faced her (although Lawrie being tired may have had something to do wih that).

You are right their early (pre SEC) schedule is weak every year. I think Lu has finally realized that the RPI is what is going to get UGA into the better regional bracket.

Lawrie was tired. It is the gamble that Washington took rather than face us with Harris. It didn't work out but they couldn't let us beat them twice especially with Morgan pitching. They had a problem. If our bats would have come to life (IMO we can hit Lawrie) they would have had a bigger problem.

Georgia has always had a good offense. Speed and power top to middle but somewhat weak at the bottom. Their real problem is what I was talking about with their SEC play. They always manage to lose one or two conference games that they shouldn't and end up with a bad regional or Super Regional draw.

I think that has something to do with their "cupcake schedule" early on. Come SEC play I am not sure they have been ready to play and it costs them. Maybe, this year, Lu has addressed that...we shall see.
