Softball will Host Super Regional in T-Town

Alabama has advanced to the NCAA Super Regional after defeating Texas in the Regional Sunday. They will play Jacksonville State in a best 2 out of 3 head to head series in T-Town beginning Friday afternoon. The winner gets a berth in the Womens College World Series.

Come on out and see a game. It is in your home town and the winner take all format of the Super Regional is an intense event.

Tickets are on sale now through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum and through RollTide.com.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - After earning its seventh overall and fifth consecutive NCAA Regional Championship with a 7-0 win over second-seeded Texas, Alabama will host Jacksonville State in the NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Super Regional.

The three-game series will start Friday, May 22 with first pitch slated for 1:00 p.m. CT, before continuing Saturday starting at 11 a.m. CT. Friday's game will be simulcast on ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN360.com while Saturday's game will be broadcast by ESPN and ESPN360.com. If a third game is necessary it will be Saturday as well.

Tickets are on sale now through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum and through RollTide.com.

The Crimson Tide will host in-state opponent Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks beat Tennessee twice in Knoxville on Sunday to advance to their first Super Regional. Jacksonville State played in the 2008 NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional and lost to the Crimson Tide in the championship game.
Alabama is 1-0 against the Gamecocks this season with a 9-0 win in five innings in the South Alabama Kickoff Classic in Mobile. Alabama is 11-0 all time against the Gamecocks and 2-0 in NCAA postseason play.

The Tide is now 29-9 (.763) in NCAA Regional play and 22-3 (.880) in NCAA Regional game played in Tuscaloosa. Alabama sports a 50-9 overall record this season and a 29-1 mark at the Alabama Softball Complex.
